ESEE Buying Guide: which ESEE knife is the right one for me?

ESEE Knives produces many different survival knives. From small to large, perfect for kitchen tasks or for coarse chopping work. Sometimes the knives merely differ in length, sometimes also in terms of thickness and grind. Exactly those nuances can definitely make the difference in the end. For that reason we have listed the most occurring ESEE models and their features to make sure you will definitely be able to make your choice.

ESEE Junglas

The ESEE Junglas is a large machete designed in the Amazon jungle. Actually, the term ‘machete’ does not do justice to this knife. Because of its thick blade and solid construction the ESEE Junglas is more an oversized survival knife. Great to clear dense vegetation or to prune blackberry bushes. But also for general tasks around the camp.

ESEE 6

The ESEE 6 will come in handy during the more demanding tasks. With a blade length of over 16 cm you will have more than enough to work with. Whether you use it for survival or bushcraft purposes: the ESEE 6 can do it all. This knife was designed and made to be used. From the reality of the Amazon jungle to your hands.

ESEE 5

The odd one out amongst the 6,5,4 and 3. After all, the ESEE Model 5 has a blade that is a lot thicker. That much thicker even that the ESEE 5 is twice as heavy as the ESEE 6, while it is only a couple centimeters shorter. The mid-size survival knife that is almost impossible to destroy. Even more solid than ‘normal’ ESEE knives.

ESEE 4

The ESEE 4 is a friend to all. A nice mid-size knife large enough to do almost anything in a survival or bushcraft situation. At the same time, however, it is compact enough to never hold you back. We believe this is the most all-round ESEE knife in our current range.

ESEE 3

The ESEE 3 is the little brother of the ESEE 4. Still big enough for many tasks, but a little shorter and lighter. If you are planning on wearing your ESEE on the shoulder strap of your backpack or vest the ESEE 3 is, we believe, the better choice.

ESEE Camp-Lore

The knives in the ESEE Camp-Lore series are designed to be traditional bushcraft knives. They are made and tested by experts of different backgrounds, which is why every Camp-Lore knife is so different. While some knives are designed with hunting in mind, others are mostly intended for food prep and then there are knives designed to excel in tasks like wood work.

ESEE Izula

The ESEE Izula is a compact and razor-sharp survival knife that can also be carried as a neck knife. ESEE named the Izula after the notorious bullet ant from the Amazon jungle. Locals call this ant Isula. Like the vicious bullet ant the ESEE Izula is small, but large in terms of impact. A perfect small survival knife.

ESEE pocket knives

Last but not least: ESEE pocket knives. The ESEE pocket knives were designed with the same goals in mind as the well-known fixed ESEE knives: simple and reliable. You won't carry a fixed knife with you every day, but with an ESEE pocket knife you can still carry an ESEE knife wherever you go. Perfect for daily use. You don't need to be in the woods to use this knife; simply opening packaging or peeling an apple works perfectly fine.

What about other ESEE knives?

In addition to this list of knives there are also other models. We have not added them to this list because they are not sold that often, or because they are so significantly unconventional that their individual features speak for themselves. In addition, as we speak ESEE Knives has probably once again introduced new models.
