before buying this knife I did a lot of research of different knives. But keeping in mind what my need were it didn't take long before I chose this knife. Im more of a bush crafter hunter. I used to have quite a large knife, and I had issues about carrying such a knife! If I had been stopped by the police it would have caused some issues! So getting this Bark River Fox River knife was the right move. I don't believe you have to have a large knife for bushcrafting its complete rubbish. This knife is perfect for any camp duties, firewood, carving, hunting all very good. The blade is not a scandi but convexed, and this makes it very easy to sharpen. But with this LT ELMAX you really won't need to sharpen it often if at all. It really holds a very good edge, you can cut all your fire wood and a lot more other jobs besides. I was very surprised at its light weight, its half the weight of my leatherman MUT. this means your hands won't get tired of holding it, it fits perfectly into my hand, and mine are quite big. I have no regrets about buying this knife and I really look forward to working it very hard indeed, I have even put it through its paces in my kitchen, it did a perfect job. and still I don't need to sharpen it! I have even shaved with it!!! the wooden handle is very nicely finished, and so is the sheath, stunning real well made with full grained leather.
