I wanted a fixed bladed knife suitable for outdoor use, mainly for light camp work. The outdoorsman suited my needs almost perfectly. The only (and it's very minor) critisisms I have are that it can be difficult to draw one-handed and there's no lanyard loop. Apart from that I'm very pleased with it.
