Full description
The history of Douk-Douk goes back to France in 1929, where the first Douk-Douk was produced. Originally, these knives were produced for export to French colonies in Africa and Oceania. They were immensely popular because of the cheap price and the razor-sharp blade.

I bought this French knife more because of its interesting history than its use as a tool. However its very easy knife to carry, the blade is an interesting shape (although not particularly sharp) surprisingly it has a half stop! I found it to be rough around the edges but a nice knife overall. If you wanted a knife thats similar but more suited to daily carry perhaps a Boker Plus Atlas or Otter Mercator C75 (s/s handle) both of which can be had for a little less than the Douk-Douk and with better fit and finish.

The best pocket knife one can get. Light, strong, good steel that holds razor edge. This is the knife favoured by mountaineers, the French Foreign Legion and aficionados due to its strength, lightness and steel. A must have knife...
