Die Zytel Scheide für das Fällkniven R2ez entspricht dem Pro-Standard bei Fällkniven inkl. der Hebelsicherung, wie man sie sonst bei den Pro- und X-Modellen findet. Dadurch wird das Messer gleich aufgewertet und noch dazu ist die Hülle separat so günstig zu bekommen, dass ich mir eine zweite Scheide gegönnt habe, um sie für eine ausschließlich horizontale Trageart umzubauen, die ich für das „kleine“ R2 Scout bevorzuge. Inzwischen habe ich mir sogar noch eine dritte Hülle besorgt, die ich für den ausschließlichen Gebrauch im einer kleinen Slingback umgebaut habe. Den Zytel-Scheiden von Fällkniven ist insgesamt gemein, dass sie sehr schmal daherkommen und weniger „auftragen“, als so ziemlich alle anderen Messerhüllen. Noch dazu sind sie sehr leicht und unempfindlich und eignen sich daher für quasi jeden Einsatz. Ich bin ansonsten ein großer Fan hochqualitativer Lederscheiden, aber bei Fällkniven habe ich die Zytel-Version lieben gelernt und möchte sie nicht mehr missen.
