The Fenix HP01 headlamp is a smaller variant of the Fenix HP05. An aluminum chassis provides strength and good heat dissipation. The separate batteryholder keeps the weight of the torch low. This battery holder is equipped with a quick release. This means you can very quickly at any time remove the battery holder to replace the common AA batteries, without even looking.  
  


The operation of the tilting head lamp is done with 2 switches on the lamp head. You can choose from 4 light modes and a SOS mode. In addition, there is also a small red LED on the torch, that gives a little light without interfering with your night vision. With this red light you can read a map, for example, without side effect for your eyes. Because the bundle of the white light is not very wide, the range of this is up to 95 metres.

* The indication of the light intensity is according to the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standards. This means that the values may be lower than former values . Naturally, this lower value has no consequence for the light intensity of the torch. The advantage of the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standards is that the values can be compared with each other and give a real picture of the actual light intenstiy.

Ich habe die Lampe mehrmals zum Joggen auf Waldwegen bei völliger Dunkelheit genutzt und bin vollauf zufrieden. Die 2. Stufe reicht aus, um den Weg gut zu erkennen

Super goede hoofdlamp, meer dan genoeg licht een goede accu duur bij ferme licht opbrengst. Hij zit goed op je hoofd is mooi in balans met de accu's achter op. De body is grotendeels van aluminium een zeer solide lamp. Het hengsel is stevig en het klik systeem komt degelijk over.
Het batterijen compartiment is super gemakkelijk te openen je kunt batterijen wisselen terwijl je hem op je hoofd hebt. Nadeel is wel dat hij bijvoorbeeld in mijn tas was open gegaan. De tas was onder water geweest, toch was hij niet vergenoeg open om water bij de batterijen te krijgen. De volgende keer doe ik er een elastiekje om als hij in mijn tas gaat bij kan op water.



Weer een fraai lampje!

Welnu, dit is niet mijn eerste Fenix lamp, noch de eerste aankoop bij KaTo, en beide zijn weer meer dan in orde. Hulde! Ga zo door! Hoewel de dagen langer worden heb ik dit lampje toch vooral aangeschaft om 's avonds te kunnen gaan hardlopen in slecht verlicht, bosachtig terrein; weliswaar op de paden maar eergisteren ben ik toch mooi niet op twee kikkers gestapt die ander misschien toch een hele slechte avond gehad zouden kunnen hebben (die maat 44 moet ook ergens weer een keer aan de grond komen, en dan kan het te laat zijn natuurlijk...). Hardware prima uitgevoerd, met name de batterijhouder is een fraai en praktisch stukje ontwerp, de banden zitten prima en zijn goed af te stellen. Ook de rode LED vind ik vernuftig, hij is inderdaad prima te gebruiken om te lezen maar is ook sterk genoeg om praktisch zeker van nut te zijn in kleinere ruimtes, zoals een tent of binnenshuis; ruim voldoende licht voor een goede oriëntatie. De primaire LED geeft zat licht om goed mee te kunnen hardlopen; bij mijn afstelling een redelijk geconcentreerde spot op het pad, een meter of twee, drie voor je uit. Mijn reden om juist deze HP01 te kopen was de afweging, 210 lumen lijkt mij wel genoeg en, twee AA cellen is compacter, lichter en handiger dan drie of vier. Ook nu merk je al dat avondlijke wandelaars het licht nogal (te) fel vinden :-) Tenslotte: KaTo levert op dit moment ook de Surefire F06 blauwfilter. Geheime tip: Surefire maakt ook een F04 diffusor; de houders van deze filters zijn van flexibel rubber. Het geval wil dat de F04 vrijwel perfect past op de HP01, met een ietsjepietsje wrijving. Strakker vastzetten kan door een klein tiewrapje om de rubber houder te doen en iets aan te trekken. Het effect van de diffusor is wat mij betreft voor gebruik binnenshuis groot. Zonder wordt de sterke spot van de lamp, met duidelijke lichtafval naar de randen, wat hinderlijk. Met diffusor krijg je een duidelijk egaler, prettiger lichtverdeling, bijvoorbeeld om te lezen. Juist: en dan nu maar weer netjes sparen en een smoes vinden om het volgende hebbeding aan te gaan schaffen... ;-)
