Een geweldig instrument. Wie uitstekende materialen, super-solide bouwkwaliteit en uitmuntende afwerking waardeert zal met deze zaklamp heel blij zijn.
Qua specificaties van de prestaties is dit een lamp die niet opvalt tussen het geweld van >1000 lumen en bizarre throw-afstanden. Maar daar koop je deze lamp niet voor. Bij HDS lampen wordt de output gekalibreerd. Ik merk bovendien dat de CRI van deze Nichia 219b LED ook echt een mooiere kleurweergave (bijvoorbeeld op de huid) geeft dan andere high-CRI lampen met dezelfde LED die ik heb, dus wellicht wordt er gebruik gemaakt van betere 'bins'.
Het geheel ligt erg prettig in de hand, en de 'knurling' is optisch perfect en geeft een heel aangename grip. De Rotary-interface is super-simpel in gebruik, maar zeer geavanceerd.
Persoonlijk zou ik altijd kiezen voor de 18650 form-factor aangezien de CR123A-versie veel korter met één lading werkt, en bovendien verhoudingsgewijs onlogisch groot is voor zo'n kleine accu.
