The Hogue EX-04 Upswept is a stylish and pocket knife with a great finish, designed by custom knife maker Allen Elishewitz. The subtle shape of the knife is complemented by the almost damask-like drawing of the G10 handles. These handles serve as if the frame of the knife since there are no liners. This makes the handle very light in weight. The blade of 154CM steel has a double hollow-grind and a slight "swedge" (sideways flattening towards the point). This gives great lining on the blade and also saves some weight to keep in balance with the very light handle. The edge is razor-sharp and is delivered with a slight mirrored edge straight from the factory. < br/> < br/> In open position the blade is blocked by a solid button-lock. This mechanism allows you to simply press the button on the side of the handle to unlock the knife. As a result, you don’t come close to the blade with your fingers during closing. This button-lock also has an additional locking which goes into play in opened position. This will lock the button-lock again to inadvertently have you pressing the button. The pocket clip can be placed tip-down so the knife can be worn inside your pocket. The clip cannot be placed in a different position, but is removable. In combination with the button-lock, which works great for right-handed people, this knife is not suited very well for left-handed people.
