The Kershaw Knockout 1870CFM390 is a solid and properly finished pocket knife, made in the United States. The handle, and the way the lock was applied to it was remarkable. The handle is made from carbon fibre. The lock side has been enhanced with a steel spring that takes care of the sub-framelock. As such you can use a light-weight material such as carbon fibre for the handle and a strong steel spring from the framelock to lock the blade. The result is a relatively large knife that is quite light-weight.
