The axe head of the Marbles No 9 is made from carbon steel. Carbon is added to the steel, making it extra strong. The more carbon, the stronger the steel. However, this also makes the steel more susceptible to rust. Therefore, always make sure you store the axe in a dry place, so the axe head remains good for as long as possible.

## Marbles Throwing Axe handle

The handle of the axe is made from natural hardwood. The handle is completely straight, which makes the axe perfect for throwing. Hardwood doesn't absorb blows as well as hickory wood, making the axe less suitable for actual chopping. For this reason, only purchase this axe for throwing and not for chopping.
