Full description
The Mora Rookie 12991 is a classic children's knife. Whether you want to carve out a wooden spoon or a classic Swedish Dala horse, the Mora Rookie is an ideal knife for children to become acquainted with how to use a blade. This knife has been designed specifically for children. The large finger guard stops the hand from slipping and ending up on the blade. The slightly smaller handle is perfect for children (or adults) with small hands. The blade is made from stainless steel. Its tip is rounded to help prevent pricking injuries. The edge is good and sharp, though.

Bought two for my grandchildren to teach them knife handling techniques/whittling. Both boys ended up using my mora precision knife and Swiss Army knife. The knives came without a good edge and the safety tip made them less practical. The handle doesn’t feel as tactile as the mora plastic handles. Both boys quickly lost interest when they found they were struggling and that was carving soap before we went onto walnut.
