Resin bound whetstone 2000 grit

This sharpening stone uses resin to bind the abrasives, in this case white aluminium oxide.  

It does not soak up water and therefore does not require frequent wetting. Super Stones wear slowly and maintain a constant sharpening effect.  

  
  


Splash with water before and during sharpening, do not soak or store in water.  
  

**About grit sizes**  

Whetstones come in various grit sizes. The higher the number, the finer the grit. A finer grit results in a sharper knife. Sharpening a really dull knife on a fine grit will take much time, so you will need to treat it on a coarser grit first.  
  



* 120 - 600: Appropriate when real dull knives need to be brought back in the right shape

* 800 - 1,000: Appropriate to sharpen knives that were already in a reasonable state

* 2,000 - 3,000: For a result sharper than most knives are when they leave the factory

* 5,000 - 12,000: To polish the knife and get a razor sharp edge

Veel groter dan de steen die ik al had. Gekocht samen met een Naniwa korrel 2000.
Eén van de stenen was vergezeld van een nagura steentje, heb wat opzoekwerk moeten doen om het gebruik hiervan te leren kennen. Een eenvoudige handleiding bijleveren zou de waardering een puntje extra bezorgen

Tja een leek aan het woord. Na de 400 en de 800 steen woden de messen al veel scherper dan ik had verwacht. Neem wel de tijd door rustig te beginnen als je net al ik een leek ben op het messenslijp gebied.
Wat mij tegen viel was de stickers op de steen die toch best vast zitten.
De aardappelschilmesjes zijn al scherp zat en die druk ik niet nog scherper te slijpen ivm mijn jonge dochter die wel eens in dezelfde lade moet zijn. 

bij de werking met deze steen verschijnen er allemaal kleine bolletje
op de steen het lijkt wel hars of vet.als je met het mes er overheen gaat blijf je de onevenheden voelen ik heb de steen ook over de 800 steen gehaald met water,dan lijkt het of het even weg is maar na verder slijpen komen die bolletje weer terug.
