This sharpening stone uses resin to bind the abrasives, in this case white aluminium oxide.  

It does not soak up water and therefore does not require frequent wetting. Super Stones wear slowly and maintain a constant sharpening effect.  

  
  


These stone works best on harder types of steel  

Splash with water before and during sharpening, do not soak or store in water.  
  

**About grit sizes**  

Whetstones come in various grit sizes. The higher the number, the finer the grit. A finer grit results in a sharper knife. Sharpening a really dull knife on a fine grit will take much time, so you will need to treat it on a coarser grit first.  
  



* 120 - 600: Appropriate when real dull knives need to be brought back in the right shape

* 800 - 1,000: Appropriate to sharpen knives that were already in a reasonable state

* 2,000 - 3,000: For a result sharper than most knives are when they leave the factory

* 5,000 - 12,000: To polish the knife and get a razor sharp edge

Wel handig zo'n voet maar had verwacht dat je de steen om kon draaien. Het blijkt dat de steen is vast gelijmd


Ich habe hier einen super Schleifstein erworben, um all meine Klingen einen Vorschlief zu geben, sofern nicht ein noch gröberer auf Grund ausbrüchen notwendig ist. Der Stein liefert einen super Abtrag und auch ein schönes Schleifbild. Bei meinen Küchenmessern, gehe ich nach dem Vorschlief mit diesem Stein direkt auf den blauen Belgischen Brocken zum Endschlief und habe dann wieder perfekt scharfe Messer. Was ich ebenfalls super finde, ist das man die Steine nicht wässern muss.. Man darf sie aber auch nicht nass aufbewahren und sollte sie wie bereits in der Anleitung beschrieben an einem dunklen Ort aufbewaren. Ich hab dafür einfach eine kleine Werkzeugkiste verwendet. Lediglich der Sockel ist nicht ideal hier sollte man sich noch eine anti rutschmatte unterlegen. Das ist aber ein grundsätzliches Problem von Naniwa Sockeln.  Die Rutschen leider viel zu leicht.

Habe mir die Superstones in den Körnungen 400, 800, 3000 gekauft. Selbst als Schleif-Anfänger bin ich mit den Steinen super zurechtgekommen. 
Mit unseren Küchenmessern kann man sich jetzt rasieren...

Nur 2 Punkte die mir nicht ganz so gut gefallen:
- Die Steine sind fest auf den Sockel fest aufgeklebt, man kann den Stein nicht mit beiden Seiten verwenden
- Wieso klebt man Aufkleber auf die Oberfläche der Steine? Die Klebrückstände haben am meisten beim 3000er Stein gestört

Ansonsten ein sehr empfehlenswertes Produkt. Würde ich sofort wieder kaufen

Omdat het prijs/kwaliteit verhouding is, geef ik toch een hogere score dan de 400 review. 
Als leek is het zelf mij gelukt een mes goed scherp te krijgen.  Uiteraard heb ik wel alle instructievideos bekeken voordat ik besteld heb. Trouwens ook nog even Knives en tools gebeld voor  goede en aanvullende informatie. Ik durf niet aan te geven of je echt de 400 moet gebruiken voor deze of niet. Zelf ben ik dus van de experts uitgegaan en zowel de 400 als de 800 aangeschaft.


Ziet er precies zo uit als verwacht, perfect dus.
