The **Katadyn Steripen Ultra-UV water purifier** ensures that you will always have safe drinking water close. Compared to other water purification systems this products works with an UV light (UV-C). With the UV-light you can purify water up to 8000 times. The UV-light fights off the micro-organisms in the water to make sure you don't get sick. This Steripen destroys 99.9% of viruses, bacteria and protozoa. Perfect for every outdoor enthusiast, traveller and backpacker.

 You can charge the Steripen Ultra with a micro-usb-cable. Once the built-in Li-Ion battery is fully charged, you can purify up to 50 litres of water. Afterwards you need to recharge the battery. When in the field you can also easily charge the Steripen with a power bank or solar panel.

 ## How to use the Steripen Classic 3™

 The Steripen is incredibly easy to use. Do keep in mind that you can only use this water purifier in clear water. If the water is cloudy the particles inside can block the UV-light. You can clean half a litre or one litre of water. The Steripen needs approximately 48 seconds to purify half a litre of water. If you want to clean one litre of water you only need to wait 90 seconds.

 If the water inside the bottle isn't cloudy you can remove the protective cap. Click once and you will purify half a litre of water and click twice to purify a litre. The icon above the switch directly shows you how much water you have purified. The icon shows you want it is ready to be used. As soon as it is you submerge the pen in clear water and stir until the icon is replaced by a smiley. You can now drink the water.
