This **Wüsthof Gourmet peeling knife** is a small but versatile knife with a thin blade and smooth edge. This vegetable knife is made to cut onions and herbs, but is also great when chopping, cleaning and decorating fruit and vegetables. The difference with the other 8 cm peeling knife from the Gourmet collection can be found in the tip. While the other peeling knife is enhanced with a pointed tip, this peeling knife has
a curved tip. With the pointed tip you can easily prick something, this is an advantage and a disadvantage.

## Wüsthof Gourmet handle


The polypropylene handle is attached to the blade with rivets. The ergonomic shape feels comfortable in hand to make sure you can continue working without wearing out your hands. The knives are enhanced with the NSF mark and can therefore be used in the professional kitchen.


## Wüsthof Gourmet blade


The blade is cut from a single piece of chromium-molybdenum-vanadium steel with a laser. The production method is cheaper than forging, but still leaves you with very good kitchen knives when using the right type of steel. Afterwards the steel is hardened up to 56 Rockwell. The result is that the blade retains its sharpness longer in comparison to other brands in the same price range. But that is not all! The edge is also easy to sharpen. Even though these kitchen knives are dishwasher proof we advise you to clean them by hand.

The Wüsthof Gourmet collection is made for the amateur chef. As a basis for this collection Wüsthof used the Classic collection to come up with a similar knife for a more affordable price. And they were successful! The blade seamlessly merges with the handle making them very similar to the knives from the Wüsthof Classic collection. However, because of the production method used the knives from the Gourmet collection are a lot more affordable. The weight is also lower, which is great for many users. The Gourmet collection is expansive to make sure everyone can comprise the perfect knife set. Excellent product. A brilliant addition to my Wusthof collection.

Ik had twee van deze mesjes elf jaar geleden gekocht. Eén ervan geeft de geest gegeven, in twee gekraakt na 10 jaar gebruik (dit waarschijnlijk omdat ze bijna dagelijks in de vaatwas hebben gezeten). De ander doet nog altijd trouwe dienst. Ik heb andere merken en soorten mesjes geprobeerd (waaronder keramische), en er is niet beter dan deze. Als je het mij vraagt, de beste schil mesjes die je kan kopen, en als ze meer dan tien jaar meegaan komt het goedkoop uit, vind ik.

het zijn echt super mesjes als je ze goed aanzet op de aanzetstaaf dan blijven ze scherp dan kun je er ook een tijd mee doen
