The **Benchmade Bugout Black 535BK-2** is a light-weight and affordable pocket knife, made in the United States. The 535BK-2 Bugout was designed for hikers who pay attention to every gram. With 51 grams and a 8.2 cm blade Benchmade was very successful. The Bugout is great when preparing food, making feathersticks to start a fire, and when opening packages.

 This improved version of the Bugout looks amazing. Instead of the matt, grey-black coating we saw on the Bugout 535GRY-1 Benchmade used a smoother black Cerakote coating. The type of steel remained the same: S30V steel with a hardness of 58-60 HRC. With a very thin edge. Perfectly sharpened for peeling an apple. CPM S30V is very stainless and retains its sharpness very well. It is also easy to sharpen.

 The handle is made from CF-Elite, instead of grivory. A new handle material comprised of polymer enhanced with carbon fibre. A rock-solid material that was originally used in the car and aviation industry. CF-Elite is no less than 50% stronger than grivory and even lighter. Yes, you read it right. Even lighter! What more could you possibly ask for?

 For the firmness around the lock, Benchmade has fitted steel liners at the front of the handle. Normally, the Axis lock is equipped with a steel catch. To save weight, Benchmade has fitted the Bugout with a titanium variant. Even lighter. 

The Benchmade 535BK-2 Bugout is enhanced with a slightly shorter deep-carry pocket clip. Less steel means less weight: another detail Benchmade thought carefully about. You are, of course, able to place the clip on both sides to make it the perfect knife for both left and right-handed use.

Compact, aangenaam mes. Wordt scherp geleverd en opent vlot. Ik gebruik het zonder clip en na enkele dagen in de broekzak viel het me op dat -door kleine vuiltjes-  het openen gepaard gaat met ietwat geschraap. Op zich niet storend en het beïnvloedt de werking niet maar dit is het eerste mes waarmee ik dit ervaar. 
Voorts voelt het materiaal van de schalen nogal goedkoop aan mede doordat het mes echt wel dun is. 
Desondanks ben ik tevreden van de aankoop. De prijs is aan de hoge kant maar dat zal door het gebruikte staal komen. 

Hele fijne EDC-folding mes! Mooie afwerking en voelt erg stevig aan. Goed scherp geslepen dus meteen bruikbaar. Verder is de verpakking prima en wordt hij netjes in een stoffen hoesje geleverd. Na een week in m'n broekzak geclipt merk ik eigenlijk niet meer dat hij er zit; dus op een stoel of in de auto, zit hij nooit in de weg. Goed formaat ook, zelfs als je wat grotere handen hebt. Opent en sluit heel soepel maar zit niet te los of te vast; perfect hanteerbaar dus en tevens veilig. Geen speling wanneer open geklapt, alle imbus schroefjes zitten netjes vast en steken nergens uit. Erg blij met mijn aankoop!

Un plaisir à l'utilisation, nombreux couteaux disponibles sur knifesandtools c'est très appréciable.
Emballage et expédition au top rien à redire.

Un Bugout a toute sa place dans une collection de couteaux.
J'aime sa légèreté, et l'action ouverture/fermeture très fluide.
Je comprends que, à l'époque où il est sorti, c'était une avancée en terme de poids, par contre je trouve que son prix n'est pas justifié.
Je ne regrette pas mon achat (il en fallait un dans ma collection) mais je n'en prendrai pas d'autres à ces prix. 😉 

Handige en goede EDC. Materiaal van de handgreep lijkt erg "plastic" maar ik ben voor dit mes gegaan vanwege de veelal goede reviews. Enige twijfel die I heb zijn de veren. Die willen het nog wel eens begeven las ik en dat zou bij een mes uit deze prijsklasse niet mogen. Bij mij nog geen problemen.

Verder echt een heel gaaf mes om dagelijks te dragen en te gebruiken voor allerlei huis tuin en keuken zaken. Past perfect in de broekzak! In veel uitvoeringen verkrijgbaar.
