With the **Böker Magnum Bon Appetite**, plastic disposable sporks are a thing of the past! This pocket knife/pocket cutlery consists of a knife, spoon and fork with a bottle opener. All the cutlery you need for a successful camping trip, hike or picnic, in one handy pocket knife.

## Böker Magnum Bon Appetite blade

The knife, spoon and fork are all made from 440A steel. This isn't the hardest type of steel, but it's very corrosion resistant, and it's also easy to sharpen. This means you don't have to worry if your blade is still a bit dirty or wet after an outdoor picnic. We do however recommend that you thoroughly clean and dry the pocket knife after the walk or picnic. A nice little job for when you're back at the tent or caravan!

## Böker Magnum Bon Appetite handle

The handle is made from pakka wood and stainless steel. Pakka wood consists of laminated and impregnated birchwood. Because the wood is impregnated with a phenol resin under high pressure, it is extremely hard and highly resistant to moisture. The bolsters are made from stainless steel, but have the gold-coloured finish of brass. Why not real brass? This has the looks, but not the maintenance!

Mooi setje bestaande uit mes, vork/flesopener en lepel, afzonderlijk los te koppelen van elkaar. Het mes is scherp, alleen de vork en lepel zijn erg klein. Het gaat lang duren voordat je je bordje leeg hebt, zeker als het soep is, want de vork is formaat snackbarvorkje en de lepel is een theelepeltje. Verder is het geheel behoorlijk zwaar. Te zwaar voor in een jaszak, naar mijn smaak Ik zou het qua reisbestek houden bij een titanium spork (normaal formaat vork en lepel) en een regulier zakmes, dat je wss hoe dan ook bij je draagt...

Op zich is dit een heel handig mesje voor als je gaat kamperen.
Daar waar merken zoals Opinel kampeersetjes aanbieden waarbij je een vork of een lepel op je mes kan vastmaken kan je deze Böker uit elkaar halen in 3 afzonderlijke delen (vork, mes, lepel).
Dit maakt het eten dus veel eenvoudiger. Je kan bijvoorbeeld gewoon in je voedsel prikken terwijl je het snijdt.
Voorzie best wel een doekje om alles terug proper te maken alvorens je het terug in elkaar steekt. Anders vermoed ik dat je nadien veel gaat mogen kuisen.
Op gebeid van gewicht valt dit geheel nogal zwaar uit maar dat komt nu eenmaal door het veelvuldig gebruik van staal. Een goede multitool is ook niet vederlicht.
Mogelijk had dit wel wat lichter gekund met koolstofvezels en titanium maar dan keken we tegen een totaal andere prijsklasse aan.
Wat betreft afmetingen valt het allemaal wat groter uit dan een gewoon zakmesje. Dus ik zou dit enkel meenemen als je het effectief gaat gebruiken en niet dagelijks op zak houden. (Tenzij je misschien dagelijks een kant en klare maaltijd in de supermarkt gaat halen en een hekel hebt aan die plastic vorkjes of die houten lepels.)


Spijtig genoeg ontbrak bij mij één van de pinnen die het geheel bij elkaar houden. Buiten het product eens goed bekijken heb ik dus niet de kans gehad om het effectief te gebruiken.
Dit is natuurlijk niet de fout van Knives and Tools. Het product is keurig retour gegaan.

Ik betwijfel dat dit een mes is dat je hele leven mee gaat gaan maar aan deze prijs hoeft dit misschien ook niet. Als dit mes iets is wat je gaat gebruiken (bij het kamperen,...) dan zou ik niet aarzelen.
Bij een defect kan je het gewoon terugsturen. (Of je zou kunnen vragen dat ze het doosje al eens openen en het mes nakijken alvorens het te versturen.)

I am by no means a knife professional, but I have to say for the price, the knife's quality is really-really good. 
I would also like to add, that what the pictures fail to show, is that the knife can be separated into 3 independent pieces (fork, knife and spoon) which I find very useful. 
All in all I definitely recommend this tool.
