I've recently bought two of these knives: splendid classics with a great Fit&Finish. Brass and ebony are such a wonderful combination. The locking mechanism works smoothly and safely: perfectly adjusted. One serious problem. I rarely complain about a factory edge. I love sharpening and do have all the necessary tools. But this is a special case. The blades came blunt as a butterknife, but that's no problem. The real issue: the bevels have been made with extremely coarse (diamond, 30 or 60 grit?) abrasives with a lot of pressure which caused deep grooves going up to the very edge. After that, no progression in grits, only a fine polishing which doesn't remove the grooves who are still present. Three or four steps have been skipped. It took me quite some time to have them removed with a Shapton Pro 120 which is my coarsest stone. But you have no choice: as long as these grooves are there building a stable edge isn't possible. Wondering what customers without such equipment are supposed to do. This isn't what we expect from a Buck.
