The **Cold Steel Drop Forged Survivalist 36MH** is a large and robust survival knife, forged from one solid block of 52100 steel. This is a type of tool steel that was originally used for ball bearings. Soon it was concluded that it also has excellent properties to be used in knives. It is tough, easy to sharpen and retains its sharpness well.

 However, 52100 steel is not stainless. That is why Cold Steel has enhanced the Drop Forged Survivalist with a matt grey powder coating. This also looks really cool. Whether you're going to hunt big game, or want to spend a weekend in the woods: the Survivalist will probably last longer than you do.

 The Cold Steel Drop Forged Survivalist comes with a good Secure-Ex sheath that can easily be used by left and right-handed users.

Hola,en primer lugar decir que es un cuchillo tanto para la supervivencia como para cazar y eso indica polivalencia,de buen acero y excelente agarre,en resumen un cuchillo top.

Für ca 100.- ein Schnäppchen. Es fühlt sich in Natur noch viel besser an und sieht sehr gut aus.
Es liegt sehr angenehm und fest in der Hand, kommt vom Werk scharf geschliffen. Die Scheide - auch ohne Makel verarbeitet - sitzt bombenfest und hat - entgegengesetzt vieler Meinungen in den Medien - fast null Spiel, da wackelt und klappert nix. Auch wurde in einigen Reviews bemängelt, dass es keine Entwässerungsöffnung in der  " Secure-Ex " gibt. Das stimmt nicht. Ganz unten, unterhalb der letzten 2 Nieten, gibt es eine Ablauföffnung. 
Fazit: Für mich das perfekte Messer. Verarbeitung, Handling, verwendeter Stahl und Griffschalen + effiziente Messerscheide, ... kommt in einer simplen Pappschachtel, ohne Schnickschnack. Und es gefällt mir sehr gut. Dezente Farbe, dezente Logos, feine und glatte Beschichtung, einfach ein feines Teil. Das "Drop Forged Hunter" ist schon bestellt. Beide Messer wird mein Sohn bekommen und kann sie an seine Enkel weitergeben. Ab und zu ein wenig Öl und Pflege dann werden diese Teile ewig leben.
