The **Cold Steel SR1 Lite** is a large pocket knife for an amazing price. The blade is over 10 cm long and with a blade thickness of 4.0 mm it can only make you feel confident. You quickly open it with one hand with the thumb stud. As you have grown accustomed to from Cold Steel the SR1 Lite is also enhanced with the famous Tri-Ad-Lock. This is an extremely strong lock to make sure your fingers are safe.



The handle is made from Griv-Ex, a light-weight and strong handle material. The blade is made from 8Cr13MoV-steel. This is a stainless, tough type of steel that is easy to sharpen.

Great knife and much lighter than the 4Max scout which it replaced as my go to EDC blade. The only downside was that when it arrived the main bearing was loose making the blade wobble and the locking mechanism nearly unusable; a quick tightem with the relevant torx tool sorted this out, but it would have been better if this hadn't been required.

Sa lame épaisse est tranchante comme un scalpel. Il est à l’aise pour les travaux extérieurs (carton, bois,…)
Il n’est pas une véritable edc parce qu’encombrant et un peu lourd mais pour la balade en forêt ou dans le jardin c’est un must !

Voor het eerst een Cold Steel mes gekocht.  Normaal Spyderco, ZT etc.

Mes oogt prima, voelt behoorlijk goed. Lemmet is niets op aan te merken, stevig, massief, scherp.  Lock is even wennen en vergt best wel wat kracht maar wel enorm stevig.

Handvat is goed en functioneel.  Prima kunststof,  maar in vergelijking met andere merken voelt het allemaal erg recht, scherp en hoekig aan. Perfect voor gebruik met handschoenen dat wel.


De draagklem is verschrikkelijk.  Veel en veel te stug en strak. Een alternatief hiervoor is een must en zou mooi zijn als dit in het assortiment zou zitten. Deze clip is zo stug dat hij onbruikbaar is en je kleding sloopt.


Al met al, qua bouwkwaliteit/degelijkheid een perfect werkmes. Voor de prijs kan ik geen beter heavy use werkmes bedenken.
Ben je luxere messen gewend is dit qua bedieningsgemak en afwerking comfort wel even een stapje terug. Maar je krijgt een onverwoestbaar mes ervoor terug.
