## Handle and blade

The stainless steel blade's surface features an intriguing partially-hammered finish. Originally, these dents were the result of the blacksmith's hammer. In Japan, this finish is known as Tsuchime. This finish isn't just there for looks, it also prevents food from sticking to the blade. The handle is made from coloured G10. This is a very sturdy plastic that is resistant to moisture, heat and falls.

## How to maintain your Eden Elements kitchen knives

Always wash your Eden Elements knives by hand. When you put these knives in the dishwasher, water can stay behind in the little dimples of the blade. This makes the steel more likely to rust. In addition, detergent can also affect the handles of these knives, causing them to become dull over time. Keep your knives looking great and wash them by hand!

Heb zelfs een ander Nakiri mes van Eden gekocht. 
Deze aan mijn zoon gegeven (voor een euro..).
Hij is er echt heel blij mee vertelde hij laatst weer en gebruikt ‘m vaak. 
Vooral voor groenten snijden top. 

Schitterend produkt voor die prijs. Extra scherp. Uitstekende keuze.

Having never had a knife like this before I didn’t know what to expect. The knife feels great in the hand, well balanced and easy to use. Nice and sharp out the box. Instant hit here!

I bought  2 of them (1 as a gift) and I'm not disappointed at all.
Very good fit and finish. Shaving sharp out of the box 
The main reason I bought it for is the blade geometry, which is excellent for preventing potatoes, cucumbers and tomatoes from sticking to it during cutting. 
I noticed some gentle splitting/vedging while cutting hard and starchy vegetables (potatoes, sweet potatoes) but that's to be expected since it's not a full flat grind.
The handle made in G10 makes the knife significantly iheavier than a traditional japanese nakiri but this design choice seems very intentional as the heavy handle perfectly balances the blade for pinch grip.
A few other advantages of G10 over wood iare that G10 is maintenance free, cannot host bacteria and is virtually indestructible.
