The **Hultafors SK Safety Knife** is a safety knife with a blunt tip. What is a safety knife? A safety knife is a knife with a blunt point. This reduces the risk of sticking injuries. That makes these knives perfect for young scouts who want to get acquainted with bushcraft. The edge is of course very sharp though, so caution is still required!




The blade is made from Japanese carbon steel. This is a sturdy steel that is easy to sharpen. It isn't stainless, though, so take care around moisture and acids. The handle is made from polypropylene. This is a durable plastic that will last for years and years. Prefer a stainless steel blade? The knife comes with a handy sheath so you can carry it on a belt up to 4 cm wide. You can also hang it from a button on your overalls. To do this, unclip the belt loop, slide the button in and then click it into place. Very practical!

De afgeronde punt is precies wat ik zocht. Het ding I vlijmscherp en houdt goed vast. Het is een koopje voor dit geld.

This is a great knife for beginners (children). But teach them about knife safety before handing them any knife, and never leave kids unattended with a knife. It needs a bit of sharpening & polishing to be perfect but considering the price that's more than fine. The handle is great and keeps their hands from sliding on the blade. My daughter uses this one as her bushcraft knife and is very happy with it. I've orderd a few more to use in workshops and they prove to be great value for money.
