For context - I have a huge collection of high end knives and occasionally buy something like this, to have a play with... and I love sharpening anything, from chainsaws, to chisels, drill-bits and knives. Not going to wax lyrical... the blade geometry is graceful, stylish, actually beautiful. It's a nice flat grind, a slicer, not a 'whacker'. Handle has much larger proportions than the blade - but it works very well in combination. I have not used it in anger or tried to destroy it, so cannot comment on it's durability - with respect to construction and tang etc. From memory 1095 so you know where you are (assuming heat treat was optimal). The edge arrived hand ground. It was OK, looked perfect, even fooled me under the microscope for a second, but the grind never actually went to the apex, there were a few hundred microns that were obtuse/flat on the (almost) apex of the grind. Not bad enough to see a reflection. As I say, functional sharp, but not awesomely scary. It is now, but didn't change the bevel angle. Sheath is very well though out. I love it. I'd usually put a knife like this somewhere and forget I even had it... but this one has stayed around for three weeks now, with no sign of me losing my love of it's aesthetics. Would it be in the bunch of knives I'd grab if my house was on-fire... probably not but it is a lovely design and I really do like it. Actually I'll probably get a spare.

Very good balance, good combination between surviving, camping and self defence. Great knife overall, it’s what you expect from a Ka Bar. The price a bit higher because the shipment , etc
