The quality of this knife is amazing for the price. It's a general purpose no nonsense utility knife that I bought for green woodcarving. Although it arrives fairly sharp you'll probably want to do some work on it but the Scandi grind makes it easy to obtain a razor edge (and yes you can shave with it but I wouldn't recommend it) The thickness, size and shape of the blade make it versatile, able to remove large amounts of material or get into small nooks and crannies for detailed work. If you're using waterstones to sharpen it put some oil or grease where the blade meets the ferule to prevent rust and maybe grind the heel at a slight angle to prevent getting small punctures in your fingers. Excellent knife at any price.

Great knife perfect all rounder , keeps a great edge . I have had one of these knives in my rucksack for a back up blade for 20 odd years . if you don't loose it you'll have it a life time. And the brilliant service from knives and tools was a great added bonus thanks to all.
