The **Nitecore EC11 LED flashlight** is only 7.5 cm long. A large light has been squeezed into this short body. The maximum light output of 900 lumens is very eye-catching, and there is a red LED too. With five light modes, a stroboscope and a flashing mode for the red LED, this lamp is sufficient in almost all circumstances.


The body of the EC11 doesn't spontaneously roll off the table. You can stand it up vertically to use it as a candle. Other flashlights can do this too, but the shape of this one allows it to stand up nice and sturdily. To prevent accidental battery drain, there are two ways to prevent the Nitecore EC11 LED flashlight from accidentally switching on: by unscrewing the tail cap or by pressing and holding both switches simultaneously when the light is on.


The Nitecore EC11 runs on both a CR123A battery and an IMR18350 battery. It only achieves the maximum light output of 900 lumens when running on the latter. On a CR123A, it still offers an impressive 430 lumens.

The story of the EC11 is a tale of light and shadow. It has some stunningly good features: it’s a 900 lumen flashlight that fits in the palm of your hand. It also has some significant foibles: as the switches are entirely electronic, you’ll need to unscrew the bottom cap by half a turn to reduce battery use to zero when you have it turned off, and my preference would be for a flashlight with more straightforward switches. The EC11 lacks protection circuits and so it can over-drain batteries so that it is difficult to get them to charge - using batteries that have a protection circuit built in (for example Fenix) solves this problem. The most useful flashlight is the one that you have on you when you need it, so despite it’s not insignificant shortcomings, I still think this is an excellent light - it’s almost as bright as a car headlight but small enough to put in your pocket with a spare battery and forget about it until you need it.

C'est vraiment petit... et puissant ! Impression de qualité sauf l'étui un peu cheap et trop court. Achetée pour remplacer une fenix ld12, je suis pas déçu.

Heb dit lampje inmiddels drie weken in gebruik. Ben een enorm Nitecore fan dus heb er hoge verwachtingen van. Lichtopbrengst is fantastisch. Mits je de goede accu gebruikt. Heb er op aanrade van K&T de fenix oplaadbare 16340 accu bij besteld. Vind de levensduur van een volledige opgeladen batterij een beetje aan de korte kant. Maargoed dat mag de pret niet drukken. Wel vind ik het een enorme tegenvaller als je de broek/pet clip monteert dat het op het eerste ook goed werkt. Totdat je de batterij moet verwisselen. Dan zorgt het gebogen gedeelte het dichtst bij het lampje ervoor dat het lampje niet volledig dicht gaat en dat je lampje beschadigd. Daar heb ik wel even voor moeten zoeken voordat ik daarachter was. En het ergste vind ik dat het lampje daardoor beschadigd is. Klein verbeterpuntje voor Nitecore. Is overigens ook het eerste lampje waar ik niet zo tevreden over ben.
