The **Silky Pocketboy Outback Edition** is a version of the Silky Pocketboy that was specifically designed for hunters and bushcraft enthusiasts. It is not only great for wood, you can also use it to cut through bones. The saw is compact and lightweight. As such you can easily take it with you. You lock the blade in two different positions with the lock. Is the saw closed? If so the sharp serrations are safely stored in the handle. It comes with a hardcase holster. 

The handle of this saw is made from a wood/composite compound. As such it feels warm and comfortable in hand. Also, this materials provides you with more control. 

## Saw for bushcraft and hunting purposes

What is the difference between this saw and the regular Silky Pocketboy? The saw blade of this Pocketboy Outback Edition is thicker and stronger, making it 100% outdoor proof. The saw blade and the serrations were also enhanced with a black coating of a nickel/tin mix. This extends the life of the saw blade. Also, the colour of the saw blade is dark and non-reflective. As such you are less visible in the dark. Great as you go hunting. 

## Using the Silky Pocketboy Outback Edition

The blade of this Silky saw is very hard. As such it will be amazing to use, but it does require a little attention as you use it. This saw is a pull saw. This means that the blade cannot bend as you use it. Make sure that when moving it forward the blade is never forced. This could cause it to break. As with any saw: let the saw do the work and don't force anything. This won't wear you out as much and it will benefit the life of the saw. By holding the handle in many different parts you can control how much wood you remove. Holding it close to the blade means less pressure on the blade and little wood removal. As such you can work accurately. When you hold the handle further back the pressure will be bigger, enabling you to work faster, but less precise.

## Maintaining the Silky Pocketboy Outback Edition

Always dry the saw after use and store it somewhere dry in the included holster. It is also important to make sure the saw blade stays clean because it could affect the function of the saw. You can easily clean the blade with olive oil.

Top zaag. Lekker licht en compact voor in de hike rugzak. 
Vliegt snel door het verse hout heen en zaagt ook prima door gedroogd hout.

The folding saw works perfectly and meets expectations. It is sharp, and thanks to the black coating on the blade, I can use it to cut resinous pine branches without the blade getting sticky like other types of saws. It has the right length to cut branches about 15 cm thick without too much effort. I feel that after a year of use, the blade has become noticeably less sharp, but it is still perfectly usable. That’s why it’s great that with this brand, you can order new blades and replace them yourself. 
The tip of the saw has broken off, as I’ve read in other reviews and seen in videos about this brand, where this is mentioned as a possibility. However, this is due my own misuse and not necessarily a flaw in the quality. But be careful not to overload/bend the tip!

J'ai découvert cette scie il y a un mois. J'en suis plus que satisfait. Elle a une tres bonne qualité de coupe. Il en existe plusieurs type. J'apprécie celle-ci équipé d'un étui. Facilement transportable elle trouve idéalement sa place dans le sac à dos lors fune randonnée.
