The SOG Survival is a versatile tomahawk. Not only is it great for axe throwing, it can also be used as a hammer, to pull nails, to cut, to chop, but it also comes with a firesteel. You can easily store it in the handle. As such you will always have it close. The axe head is made from 2Cr steel and the handle from fibre-glass reinforced nylon. For additional grip the handle is enhanced with a paracord wrap.

You can safely carry it with you in the included nylon belt sheath. This can be worn on the belt (maximum belt width: 4.5 cm).

Voorafgaand aan deze aankoop heb ik verschillende youtubes-filmpjes bekeken over tomahawks bekeken. Ik wilde een combinatie tussen een goede hanteerbare lengte, de mogelijkheid om het in diverse situaties te kunnen toepassen en natuurlijk de prijs-kwaliteit verhouding. Het fijne aan dit model is dat de steel niet te lang is waardoor het gemakkelijk aan de riem meegedragen kan worden. Sommige tomahawks hebben een spitse punt aan de achterzijde wat gevaarlijk voor de gebruiker kan zijn. Dat is bij deze tomahawk in veel mindere mate. Met een beetje oefenen valt deze tomahawk goed te werpen. De zwarte steel en caoting zorgen ervoor dat het geheel niet te veel opvalt.

This is a good axe if you want something light weight for your backpack for rough camping or hunting. firelighter and para-cord are nice accessories, but my problem is the axe is just too light, for chopping and amount of wood for a fire, you will have to use a tone of effort with this little buddy. Blade is good, but its heavier brother is a better axe the Voodoo Hawk if you dont mind the extra weight.
