The **Bark River Boone II** is a cool outdoor knife, inspired by a model that was first produced in the 19th century. An all-round outdoor knife for hunting or camping purpose, or to serve as the highlight of your collection. Anyone who looks closely will also see that the famous USN knife from the Second World War also looks a lot like this design. As such you should consider the Boone to be the frontrunner of this iconic knife.



The blade is made from CPM 3CV-steel. A tool steel that is known for its exceptional strength. As such it won't break and will retain its sharpness well. You do, however, need to be careful with moisture and acids: CPM 3V is not completely stainless. So clean it after use and occasionally add a drop of oil to keep this knife in great shape. The edge has been enhanced with a convex grind which you can maintain by [stropping it](/en/ct/stropping.htm).



The handle is made from canvas micarta. A strong and light-weight material, made from linen and synthetic resin. Feels comfortable in hand, even in wet or cold circumstances. On both sides the handle is flanked by a knife guard and pommel. The amount of manual labour involved is unimaginable for a (semi-)production knife such as this.



The Bark River Boone II comes with a stunning leather belt sheath.



Bark River makes all of its knives almost completely by hand. As such each knife is unique. Especially when working with natural materials a knife can differ from the photographs. The knife you receive can therefore be subtly different from the product photos. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same.
