The **Civivi Baby Banter 2** is a compact and practical EDC knife, designed by Ben Petersen. In the pocket knife community Ben is also known as [@ben_banters](https://www.instagram.com/ben_banters/) with his saying *What iiiiisss up guys!* 

He envisioned this large version of the Banter as a pocket knife that didn't need to look like any other pocket knife. People asked him why he didn't release that unique knife. The cooperation with WE Knife was sought after, and now it is here: the WE Knife Banter. By popular demand, there is now also a smaller version of the Banter: the Civivi Baby Banter. This is the Baby Banter 2 which locks with a crossbar lock, making it accessible to left-handed people and right-handed people.



The Civivi Baby Banter 2 C23074-3 Gray Stonewashed Green Micarta Crossbar Lock, pocket knife is a nice EDC knife in the colour green. With its blade length of 6 cm, it's a compact pocket knife that effortlessly fits inside your pocket. You can also notice this in the weight of 65 g. You'll barely notice you're carrying it with you!



Opening the Civivi Baby Banter 2 C23074-3 Gray Stonewashed Green Micarta Crossbar Lock, pocket knife with one hand is very easy thanks to the thumb stud. Once opened, the sturdy Crossbar Lock ensures that the blade is locked and won't accidentally close during use. A cool feature of this lock is that it can be easily used by both left-handed and right-handed users.

The name 'Crossbar Lock' is a generic term for locks of this type. The foundation of this mechanism was the Axis Lock as developed by Benchmade. Today, several manufacturers happily make use of the same mechanism, though sometimes under different names.



## Blade made of Nitro-V steel
The blade of this Civivi is made of German Nitro-V steel. This is a stainless steel that is easy to sharpen. Nitro-V is also quite tough and retains its sharpness well.



The ‘stonewash’ process was chosen for the finish of this blade. The stonewash process involves the blade being placed inside a drum with ceramic stones, or media, and then vibrated or tumbled for several hours. The result is a finish that looks precisely polished or roughened depending on the version. The advantage of stonewashing, however, is that signs of use are much less noticeable. That makes it a popular choice for knives that see a lot of use.



## Micarta handle

The handle of this Civivi Baby Banter is made of micarta and measures 8.1 cm in length. Micarta is a great material for pocket knife handles. This material is grippy, relatively lightweight and it looks very cool. It is composed of fabric fibres and synthetic resin. The resulting layers often even make micarta look a bit like wood. However, it is a very stable and strong material.

This Civivi was designed by Ben Petersen. In the pocket knife community, Ben is better known as @ben_banters with his *What iiiisss up guys!* catchphrase. From Utah, USA, Petersen delights the knife world with his interesting designs and all things pocket knife.
