The **Civivi Bullmastiff C2006** is a large and tough EDC pocket knife. Characterizing about this knife is its large cleaver-style blade shape. Like a type of cleaver. A shape that has recently gotten more and more popular. Even though you have a fairly long, straight edge, you also have a pointed tip for the more detailed tasks. 

You quickly open this knife with the flipper. What's remarkable here is that Civivi has added ceramic ball bearings, A feature you often see on knives in a much higher price range. When opened the blade is locked by a solid liner lock. As such your fingers are safe when you use this knife.

## Micarta handle

The handle is made from micarta and offers you enough grip. This is a strong composite material made from linen and synthetic resin. Micarta feels great in hand and will, in time, absorb the grease from your hands making the handle change colour. As such each handle will be unique in time.

## Blade made from 9Cr18MoV

9Cr18MoV. Quite the mouth full. All you need to know, however, is that it is stainless and easy to sharpen. 9Cr18MoV is also pretty tough and retains its sharpness well. A great type of steel for a knife in this price range.

Das Civivi Bullmastiff hatte ich eigentlich als EDC bestellt, es ist jedoch größer als ich es erwartet habe. 
Im geschlossenen Zustand merkt man das noch nicht und es verschwindet auch sehr dezent in der Hosentasche. Geöffnet jedoch wirkt es durch die hohe Klinge und die Farbe sehr mächtig und für viele EDC-Aufgaben ein bisschen überdimensioniert. 
Trotzdem ist es natürlich einfach ein total cooles Messer und macht richtig Spaß, der Öffnungsmechanismus ist wirklich angenehm und man ist schnell verleitet ein wenig damit rumzuspielen. 
Für ein EDC ein bisschen groß, für die Zubereitung von Lebensmitteln o.ä. aber eine gute Größe, aber in der S-Bahn sollte man es lieber nicht rausholen.
