The **Medford Smooth Criminal** is a cool EDC pocket knife. For a Medford knife, this is a relatively light pocket knife. It is the result of the aluminium scales. The name 'Smooth Criminal' didn't appear out of thin air: this knife is incredibly flexible. It opens superfast thanks to the flipper and the ball bearings. When opened, a solid button lock locks the blade.



The Medford Smooth Criminal 24-SC-01, S45VN DLC Blade, Black Handle, Flamed Hardware pocket knife is a cool EDC knife in the colour gold, purple, black. With its blade length of 7.6 cm, this knife is suitable for daily cutting tasks. For example, opening boxes, peeling an apple, the odd job around the house: this pocket knife can do it all.



The Medford Smooth Criminal 24-SC-01, S45VN DLC Blade, Black Handle, Flamed Hardware pocket knife opens quickly thanks to the flipper. Because the knife is equipped with ball bearings, the action is very smooth. Once opened, a button lock ensures the knife won't unintentionally snap shut during use. In terms of ease of use, this is one of the best locking mechanisms on the market.



## Blade made of CPM S45VN steel
The blade of this Medford Smooth Criminal is made of CPM S45VN steel. This is a premium type of stainless steel made by Crucible Industries in the US. S45VN retains its sharpness well, is pretty tough and very corrosion resistant. CPM S45VN  was developed as a successor to CPM S335VN. S45VN retains its sharpness even better than S35VN, and is even more resistant to corrosion too.



The blade is finished with a DLC coating, which stands for ‘Diamond Like Carbon’. It's a very hard coating that is even harder than the steel. This makes DLC very scratch-resistant, and this coating protects the blade against corrosion. DLC is very hard, but it is also only a thin layer: eventually, you will always see signs of use.



## Aluminium handle
The handle of the Medford Smooth Criminal is made from aluminium. The handle measures 10.1 cm in length. Aluminium is pleasantly lightweight and easy for the manufacturer to work with. As a result, it is a very popular choice for handles. Aluminium comes in many different grades or alloys. Most manufacturers opt for one of the more durable types of aluminium for knife handles, often using the same quality as the type used for aircraft construction.
