The **Ochsenkopf aluminium twisted wedge OX 41** is a 1000 grams forged wedge with a maximum splitting effect because of the 30 degrees twisted shape. The wedge makes it incredibly easy to cut through thick logs of wood. Use the surface at the back of the axe when you use a wedge. Because of the oval shape the wedge has a large hitting surface. Angular grooves at the front, additional serrations at the back and hooks on both sides prevent the wedge from being launched during impact. This is particularly important with frozen wood.

 The main advantage of aluminium wedges is that they are relatively light-weight and very stable. In addition, aluminium wedges are safe to work with. As such you don't have to worry about splinters when using a steel hammer (no steel on steel). If you accidentally hit the wedge with a chainsaw the chain won't be damaged.
