This **Spyderco Paramilitary 2 C81MPCW2** is an amazing pocket knife that is used in the Spyderco factory in Golden, Colorado, USA Earth. As befits Spyderco the finish is sublime. It opens easily and the famous Compression Lock, designed by Spyderco founder Sal Glesser, is very solid and easy to control.

This is a remarkable version of the Paramilitary 2: the version with a handle made from micarta and a blade made from CPM CruWear. An edition of which you might assume it is a limited edition, but that Spyderco, fortunately, added to the regular range. Great!

The micarta handle offers enough grip and feels great in hand. The great thing about micarta is that it will form a patina, making each knife unique. The greases from your hands will seep into the material. As such it will become darker on its own.

The blade is made from CPM CruWear. A popular type of steel that is wear and tear resistant. As such it retains its sharpness for a long time. Tthis type of tool steel, however, is not 100% stainless. So be careful around fruit acids and salt water. That is why a couple drops of oil once in a while will keep it in great shape. It is enhanced with very thin grind, a perfect *slicer*.

## Spyderco Paramilitary 2: an ergonomic success story.

Spyderco produces knives that should be used not looked at. And yet the Paramilitary 2 is amazing to look at. At the same time, however, the ergonomics are amazing as well. Designer Sal Glesser knows really well what works and what doesn't, you can tell when you look at this successful model.

Na 30 jaar Spyderco te gebruiken nog steeds topmerk, superkwaliteit. De PM2 is een van de, zo niet het beste zakmes wat ik ken en ik al die jaren in handen heb gehad. 

I rated it not so good, because you have to be able to take it apart and reasemble it yourself to get blade centered and action good. Spydercos come sometimes very bad from factory. They are one of the biggest overhyped companies, the quality inspection is bad, but if you can fix it yourself then its a good knife, but often you also have to locktite the pivot screws because they keep coming loose. Its not that I wont recommend this knife, its just not okay with the amount of money they cost for the fit and finish you get. But if you get a good one or fix it yourself it can become your favourite folder, no doubt 

Onwijs mooi mes. En echt beangstigend scherp uit de doos. Het Micarta is een fijn materiaal dat prettig aanvoelt. Het materiaal verkleurd door vetten en olie uit je handen. Persoonlijk vind ik deze verkleuring alleen maar mooi.

Het enige wat ik jammer vond is dat het mes veel en veel te stroef uit de doos kwam. Normaal gezien ben ik gewend bij zakmessen dat het na een paar dagen ermee spelen beter wordt, maar dat gebeurde bij dit model (bij mij) echt niet.

Als ik youtube mag geloven lopen meerdere mensen hier tegen aan, het is als je het juiste gereedschap hebt zelf gemakkelijk op te lossen. Het wringt bij mij alleen een beetje dat dit mes ongeveer €200,- euro kost. Ik had liever gezien dat het mes uit de doos perfect was.

Anyways, zeker niet mijn laatste Spyderco product. Nu het probleem (gemakkelijk) opgelost is heb ik een topmes en merk ik dat de kwaliteit van het merk gewoon heel erg goed is!
