The right tinder. It is just as important as the right fire starter. Lighting a thick branch with a lighter is nearly impossible. Which means it will be even more difficult with a firesteel. Fortunately nature offers many ways of finding or creating natural tinder. From fungi, wood shavings, fatwood or birch bark. To make sure you always have dry tinder close we recommend also getting some ready-made tinder. As such you can always get the fire started!
